Pink Polka Dots

That's the cupcakes case my sister bought on impluse during our monthly trip to PhoonHuat.
With no idea of what she can do about it, it was left untouched at a corner in the kitchen.

With Valentine around the corner, the cupcake cases was finally remembered by my sister.
Bake strawberry cupcakes we would.

The lovely pink cupcake cases.

Wanted to overload this post with pictures but after counting, i realised i might have more than 25 pictures to be uploaded.

Especially when my sister decided to decorate them since Valentine is around the corner.

So to cut things short and sweet and to prevent anyone who might be tired of scrolling through all the unneccessary pictures before reaching the finished products.

I decided to pick the nicer ones out and combine them into one or two thumbnails.

Back to the cupcakes.

Decided to use strawberry jam instead of the fruit itself because the latter is much perishable and its impossible to have all strawberry having the same sweetness level.

Using the jam also meant easier control during the baking as the fruit may released more juices hence causing the cupcake to bake longer(unneccesary because i will end up with a overbake cupcake.)

i used the most versatile cupcake recipe i had and the cupcakes came out successfully.

Of course, i will remember to cut down the sugar as the jam itself prove to be a good sweetener.

=)

Luckily, my sister's friends did find them delicious.

I guess that all i need to hear after a day of baking and decorating.

Honestly, this post..
I have been keeping over a year!
I got married in 2009, made my own cupcakes for 2 days 2 night straight.
Up till the eve of the big day i was still touching up my cupcakes with my sister till 3am in the morning.
Even got a burnt mark on my arm from the hot tray!
Was so upset until i saw the finished products.
Any pain i had went away almost immediately~!

I wish i have lesser photos to update about this but i can't!
It was just normal wedding cupcakes, no fancy things but it got me all excited because nothing beats decorating my own ROM ceremony door gifts.
The cupcakes design showed a bride, a groom, their just married statement and a purple cupcake with double hearts.

=) I can only say i was the happiest woman that day.

Condensed milk~ I can easily give up sugar for this anytime.
So when i learned about the recipe i could have made out of condensed milk than sugar.
I jumped immediately at it.

And now~ *drums roll*


Well the sponge is denser than any homemade butter cake i have come acrossed.
However its just a simple cake that goes very well with a cup of kopi-o due to its sweet aroma.

Bought a Women weekly's magazine from Kino and start baking straight away.
It was the book cover that actually attracted me the most.
毕竟包装真的还蛮重要的~

decided to go along with the receipe that was featured as the front cover.
Didn't really have the time to start the frosting as i was setting up this blog.
Onlydid a simple baking and ta-dah~! here i am with my first post.
